Why Pogba should not be blamed for penalty miss

One could be tempted to ask a lot of questions regarding Paul Pogba’s penalty miss against Burnley on Sunday but current Premier League pundit, Danny Higginbotham thinks there is no need for that at the moment.

Following the foul against Marcus Rashford, Pogba failed to score from the spot as England international Joe Hart was ahead of the Frenchman to know where the ball was heading to and he was quick to do the needful.

According to the former Manchester United player, turned pundit, Pogba was slow in his run which gave him too much time to think about where to place the ball, hence a decision was not rightly made but that is not enough reason to nail him.

Higginbotham, who defended Pogba, argued that he had scored two penalties earlier this season against Leicester and Brighton where he converted the chance with the same run-up.

He praised Pogba to be a confident and brilliant player who knows exactly what to do in every situation but that did not work out on Sunday.

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho rose in support of the Frenchman saying he will not blame him for the Penalty miss.

Meanwhile, Pogba is reported to be unsettled at United with an alleged rift between him and manager Jose Mourinho but the situation seems to be under control as the player has been very much focused on his game.
