French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) is said to be eyeing a £67m transfer for Ajax Amsterdam midfielder Frankie De Jong.

Trusted Spanish publication AS revealed that the young Dutch international star is edging closer to a move to Parc des Princes in what would make him the third most expensive acquisition for PSG behind the forward do of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

De Jong, 21, has been a key player for both club and country for the better part of the last two years.

The Dutchman was part of the Ajax team that qualified for the Champions League knockout stage for the first time in almost a decade and was also instrumental for the Netherlands’ squad that surprisingly qualified for the UEFA Nations League semifinals.

Frankie De Jong and the Netherlands will now face England in the last four of the competition later this year.

His form for Ajax Amsterdam and the Dutch national team has not gone unnoticed with the major European sides including PSG.

He has been previously linked with Premier League leaders Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and Manchester City.

It was revealed that the player has been offered a huge salary worth £7m on a yearly basis by the French champions.
