Champions League finalists Liverpool will have to deal with the threat of London club Chelsea in the race to sign Ajax Amsterdam forward David Neres according to the Daily Mail.

David Neres has been in very good form for Ajax Amsterdam this season and that has attracted the interest of Liverpool who might need a replacement for Daniel Sturridge who’s contract will expire this summer.

Liverpool are not the only ones interested in the £40m-rated David Neres.

French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint Germain (PSG), Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested.

Chelsea have a two-window transfer ban hanging over their head for alleged illegal dealings relating to the signing of underage players.

The Blues have had their appeal rejected by FIFA and they have turned to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in an attempt to have the transfer ban overturned with a verdict expected in the coming weeks.

Chelsea hope that the verdict would be positive and that they could sign David Neres.

It was revealed that David Neres is their alternative to Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic who’s expected to join Real Madrid.

David Neres’ representatives Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian have a good relationship with Chelsea and that could work in their favour ahead of the other interested clubs.
