Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly pushing for the Italian champions to sign former Real Madrid teammate James Rodriguez.

This is according to the report from German newspaper SportBild which claimed that the Portuguese national team skipper wants Rodriguez to join him at Juventus.

It was revealed that Ronaldo is keen for the Colombian international player to become a Juventus player during this summer’s transfer window.

James Rodriguez is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer following the expiration of his loan deal with the Bavarian giants.

The 27-year-old had earlier signed for Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid after he was deemed to be surplus to requirements at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

He spent three years at Real Madrid following his big money move from French Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco shortly after the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.

James Rodriguez was shipped out on loan in the summer of 2017 after German champions Bayern Munich paid £11m for his loan deal with an option to buy him for £36m.

Bayern Munich won’t take up that purchase option at the end of his loan deal.

He scored seven goals and provided four assists for Bayern Munich in 20 Bundesliga appearances.

James Rodriguez won two successive league titles at Bayern Munich.

The Colombian was previously linked with Premier League sides like Arsenal and Liverpool.
