Sarri Shuts Down Star Player’s Exit Rumours
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has dismissed transfer rumours linking midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek with a move away from the club when the transfer window reopens in the New Year.
The Italian tactician shut down those transfer rumours during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of the London Derby clash with Crystal Palace.
Premier League title contenders Chelsea will host the Eagles at Stamford Bridge in a Matchday 11 clash.
England international star Ruben Loftus-Cheek spent last season on loan at the aforementioned Crystal Palace and has been linked with a January return to Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has publicly talked about his desire to have the 22-year-old back at the club.
The Chelsea Academy graduate churned out series of impressive performances for the Eagles last season and that prompted England manager Gareth Southgate to include him as part of the 23-man squad to this summer’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia.
He was part of the England team that finished in the fourth position.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been in impressive form for the Blues in the last three games.
He has scored four goals in those games, including a treble against BATE Borisov FC of Belarus in the Europa League.
