English Premier League outfit Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira has disagreed with manager Unai Emery over German international Mesut Ozil.

This season has been a difficult one for the former Real Madrid player as he has been out of favour with the Gunners boss right from the beginning as a result of his poor performance at the club.

It is understood that the former PSG boss is pushing for Mesut Ozil to quit the church but that did not happen as the player made it clear that German would be staying at the club to fight for a starting role.

Suggestions are that the Gunners manager sees the performance of the German star as unacceptable and has no need in the team.

This does not apply to Lucas Torreira as he claims that Mesut Ozil remains a world class player who has the ability to add more quality to the team.

Lucas Torreira noted that Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil have been his closest friend since he joined that club and he hopes that is extended on the pitch with more playing time for the German.

However, Ozil was left out of the Arsenal 1-0 defeat against Malmo again with claims that he was not needed by the manager.
