Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has shown high praise on Reds teammate Virgil Van Dijk after his impressive performance in the big win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in front of their home fans to secure Premier League summit at the expense of title rivals Manchester City.

Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk was one of the best players on the pitch and he has rightfully received high praise from his fellow defender.

Trent Alexander-Arnold talked about the quality that Van Dijk possesses in an interview with the official website of Liverpool.

The one-on-one situation with Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko particularly stood out in the game.

Van Dijk was able to snuff out the danger from Sissoko who fired his shot over the back.

Liverpool might have lost the game if they had conceded a second goal in the last fifteen minutes of the game.

Roberto Firmino had given the Reds a 13th minute lead before the equalising goal from Lucas Moura.

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris then fumbled the ball into his own net off Toby Alderweireld on the stroke of full-time to hand Liverpool the three points at stake.

Virgil Van Dijk has been a colossus since his big-money move from Southampton last year.
