It is no longer news that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has stripped the captaincy off Paul Pogba.

Mourinho had told the Frenchman before the whole squad that he will never captain the club.

The development has led to lots of media talk with varying reactions.

What is more news is that Manchester United players are happy with the decision of the Portuguese manager.

A Carrington source had told the Daily Star the former Chelsea boss made it clear that Pogba lacks the qualities of a captain in addition to his attitude which portrays him to be bigger than the club.

However, the players were quick to openly show support for Mourinho by standing behind him against the £89m midfielder.

Pundits argue that the development could lead to a more serious dressed room crisis and the rift between the manager and the player could get other players more involved.

There are insinuations that United’s elimination from the Carabao Cup could be a function of the crisis that is already setting in.

It was learnt that the World Cup winner has made his intention to leave the club known to Mourinho.

Barcelona are believed to be topping the list of those who have interest in the player, including PSG and Juventus.
