Manchester United could be set to strike their biggest deal in a long while with the latest reports coming from the Daily Star.

The report claims that the Red Devils executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has had a meeting with Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino with the hope of convincing him to take charge at the Old Trafford ahead of next season.

United have been in search of a new manager since the sack of former manager Jose Mourinho who failed to pull good result at the start of the season.

Former Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was first mentioned as a replacement for the Portuguese boss but from every indication, they are keen to settle with the North London boss.

Mauricio Pochettino has been impressive for Tottenham and has ensured their qualification to the Champions League on two consecutive times ahead of their North London rivals Arsenal.

Although, United have secured the signature of former player Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the intermit manager and he has gone ahead to produce good result under his short spell so far but the club is keen on having a permanent and world-class manager.

However, the report claims that a meeting has been held but no conclusion on the subject of discussion yet.
