Valencia Plotting Summer Move For 22-Year-Old Liverpool Target

Spanish La Liga giants Valencia are said to be eyeing a move for highly-rated Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez ahead of the new season billed to start later this year.

This is according to the publication from Spanish newspaper AS.

It was revealed that Valencia want to sign the in-demand Maxi Gomez to bolster their squad on the attacking front this summer.

Apart from Valencia, Maxi Gomez is also attracting interest from Spanish champions Barcelona and newly crowned European champions Liverpool.

The Reds were recently crowned as the new champions of Europe after the victory over Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool won 2-0 at the expense of their Premier League opponents.

The Reds could boost their frontline for next season with the signing of Maxi Gomez.

The Uruguayan international was in good form for Celta Vigo during the latest Spanish La Liga season.

The 22-year-old scored 13 goals and also weighed in with five assists in 35 games in the Spanish La Liga as Celta Vigo battled with relegation for the major part of the season.

In total, he scored 13 goals and five assists in 36 games for his team in all competitions.

Barcelona wanted him to be the long-term replacement for compatriot Luis Suarez at the Nou Camp but it seems like the Spaniards have moved on to other transfer targets.
