Why Arsenal cannot sell Ozil on a permanent deal

Mesut Ozil

It has been hinted that the North London side Arsenal are in the bid of parting ways with German international Mesut Ozil but they have been limited in their decision to only sending him on a loan move.

The former Real Madrid star has been severally criticized for his poor outing and it seems that has got manager Unai Emery more frustrated to make him consider parting ways with him.

While the Gunners are keen to secure a replacement for him, they are still faced with the fact that Mesut Ozil cannot leave on a permanent deal because of his big weekly wages.

This, therefore, means that the Gunners will only have him out on loan and pay part of his £350,000-a-week wage so that his suitors can be able to accommodate him.

Suggestions are that the German international was untouchable under former manager Arsene Wenger but that has since changed with the Spanish manager wanting him to work harder and payback the huge investment on him by the club.

However, the former PSG boss has noted that selection in the team is based on performance and that also would be assessed based on each game to determine who deserves selection or not.
