Why Arsenal’s Leno also deserves some credit

Bernd Leno

A number of goalkeepers including Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga and Liverpool stopper Alisson Becker have been praised for having great performances, especially as they are having their first season at their various clubs in the English Premier League.

However, it is suggested that the North London outfit Arsenal stopper Bernd Leno also falls in that category and should be hailed as well for his impact in the manager Unai Emery’s team.

Bernd Leno was not quick into the Arsenal team as he started behind legendary goalkeeper Petr Cech but it was not long enough that he took the front stage to become the first choice in the team.

There is no doubt that he has also made an impact in the Arsenal team and has contributed to why they now stand the chance of qualification to the Champions League with a top-four finish at the end of the season.

This is usually difficult to come by especially for a goalkeeper who is playing in the Premier League for the first time.

He has therefore admitted that the English League is more difficult than the Bundesliga outfit from where he came, as he stressed that the life of a goalkeeper is not easy in general.
