Why Aston Villa can’t afford to let go of Tammy Abraham in January

Tammy Abraham

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham, who is on loan to Aston Villa, is in a wonderful run of form as he’s found the back of the net on 11 occasions after 15 championship matches.

The England international was tipped as the next big star to come out of Stamford Bridge in the 2016-17 season while he was at Bristol City.

He scored plenty goals during his time with the championship side. However, his loan move to Swansea City last season slowed down his progress as he could only manage a handful of goals throughout the campaign.

This season has been a different story for the 21-year-old striker, he’s back to his wonderful goalscoring form which has helped Villa in their chase after promotion ticket.

The Villa Park outfits are on a 5-game unbeaten streak — four wins and a dramatic 5-5 draw against Nottingham Forest last week.

The club’s impressive results could be traced to Abraham’s blistering form and that’s why the team must do all they could to keep him.

Sarri set to terminate youngster’s loan deal

Having seen how well things have been with the Englishman at the Villa Park, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly looking at the prospect of terminating Abraham’s loan deal.

Sky Sports reported that the Italian manager is impressed with the player’s performance against Nottingham Forest — in which he scored four goals — and he could recall him back to Stamford Bridge in January.

The Blues are currently facing a huge goalscoring crisis, hence, they are hoping to bring the former Bristol city’s man back to West London.

Why Villa must get him permanently

Since their relegation to the championship during the 2016-17 season, Aston Villa failed to return back to the country’s top flight League.

They came close to achieving their ultimate goal — to return back to Premier League competition — last season but they were defeated by Fulham in playoffs.

If they must continue to push for a promotion spot, they need to hold on to his services beyond January.

In fact, the Villans must strike a permanent deal with the Blues for his signature before the end of this current season. His goalscoring prowess is never in doubt as he had proven himself as a deadly striker, time and time again.

With three points off the playoff spots, Aston Villa are very confident of promoting to the EPL next season as long as Tammy remains with them.

He’s too important to the Villa and they can’t afford to let him go before the end of the season.
