Derby County manager Frank Lampard is reportedly being lined up as the replacement for outgoing Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri.

According to Sky Sports Italia, former Chelsea midfielder Lampard will return to his former club in a managerial capacity once Sarri has left for Italian champions Juventus.

It was earlier revealed on Thursday evening that Juventus have reached an agreement with Chelsea for Sarri to become their next manager.

The former Empoli and Napoli boss will leave Chelsea for Juventus after just one season in West London.

Maurizio Sarri has one year left on his Chelsea contract and Juventus are expected to pay compensation for the Italian tactician.

He led Chelsea to the Europa League title last month in his debut season for the club after leading the Blues to third place behind champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool in the Premier League.

Sarri and Chelsea thrashed London rivals Arsenal 4-1 in their Europa League final clash in Baku to win the trophy.

The Italian manager will be replaced by Chelsea legend Frank Lampard who has done a very good job as the Derby County manager.

The all-time Chelsea goalscorer led Derby County to within a game of Premier League promotion before they were beaten by Aston Villa in the Championship Playoff final.
