North London giants Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a double injury blow in midfield ahead of their Premier League clash with table-toppers Liverpool.

Tottenham travel to Merseyside to take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday evening in a crucial league clash that will go a long way to determine the fate of the two sides as far as their respective targets are concerned.

Liverpool are chasing the Premier League title while their opponents Tottenham Hotspur are hunting down a Champions League spot in the wake of their poor run which saw them record just one point from the 12 points available.

The poor run of form saw them drop out of the title race and into the scramble for Champions League football next season.

Tottenham will take their four-game winless streak to Anfield to face a Liverpool side in desperate need of three points to sustain their Premier League title bid.

Spurs will be without the midfield duo of Eric Dier and Harry Winks for the Liverpool game.

Eric Dier suffered a muscular problem while he was on England duty during the game against Czech Republic while Harry Winks has not recovered from a hip injury.

Their injury status was confirmed by Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino during his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon ahead of the Liverpool game.
