Arsenal manager Unai Emery has gotten his first warning of his side’s performance as he is told of the need to return back to Champions League football.

Arsenal Chiefs Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Veketesham told the Spanish manager that the club do not belong to the Europa League but the Champions League, telling him that it should happen soon.

Arsenal last saw a Champions League game about two seasons ago with former manager Arsene Wenger in charge at that time but the former PSG boss came in the summer in a bid to return the club to its glory days. He has been reminded of that by the club’s chiefs.

This is expected to mount pressure on the manager who just saw his side end their winning run against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Sanllehi stated that the board will not mount any pressure on the Spanish manager but hinted that Emery has been told and they are sure that he is conscious of that.

The North London side lost two points at the weekend which has reduced them to having 22 points, 4 behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and they sit fourth in the table pending the outcome of the game between Tottenham and Manchester City.
